Ground Water Programs > On-Site Water Supply - Program Responsibility

The Environmental Health Division:

	Performs sanitary surveys for Type II non-community supplies.
	Enforces state law or the Livingston County Sanitary Code as it relates to water supply and issues permits to construct a well, approving the site for the well, inspecting the system, evaluating the water (sample result) quality, reviewing and maintaining well logs, and approving the water supply for use.
	There also may be special restrictions specified for subdivisions based on groundwater conditions and deed restrictions.
