Influenza

The Livingston County Department of Public Health will continue to offer flu shots during regularly scheduled weekly immunization clinics, as long as vaccine is available.  The  walk-in clinic is open on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM, with extended hours until 7:00 PM on the   2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.

There are no restrictions on who can get the vaccine this year.  The charge for the shot    is $30 for adults; Medicare will pay the total cost.

Seasonal Influenza

Seasonal (or common) flu is a respiratory illness that can be transmitted person to person.  Most people have some immunity, and a vaccine is available.

Flu shots are also highly recommended for people who can spread influenza to those at high risk including:
• Household contacts and caregivers of children aged 0 through 59 months of age
• Health care workers
• Persons who live with or care for individuals at high risk for influenza-related complications
